McDONALD: Helen (nee Speed) - A resident of Ridgetown, Helen McDonald passed away at Meadow Park in Chatham on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the young age of 91. Born in Blenheim and raised in Rondeau Park, Helen married Jack McDonald and eventually settled down in Ridgetown where she started her family. She was predeceased by Jack in 1986 after 37 years of marriage. Loving mother of Gene McDonald (Randy) of Honey Harbour and Florida, Janice Kennedy (Paul) of Ridgetown, Debbie Muller (Pete) of Chatham and Denise McDonald of London. Special Auntie Helen to Sandy Eberle (Marvin) and family. Proud grandmother of Jason McDonald (Amy), Jeremy McDonald (Samm); Deryck Kennedy (Megan); Ryan Muller(Erica) and Shawn Muller(Miranda). Grandma Helen to Aston, Tanner, Kayden, Logan, Angel, Brooklynn and Daniel. Survived by her brother Don Speed (Kathy) of Blenheim. Sister-in-law to Evelyn Speed of Ridgetown and Mary Lou Speed of Alymer. Predeceased by her brothers Vernon (Jane), Bill and Bob. Helen will be remembered for her dedication to her family, and her love for the Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Helen endeavoured to keep up to date with technology, and was a wiz with her laptop. She was a very skilled Free Cell player. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Shaw officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations made in memory of Helen to Participation House, London would be appreciated.
