Obituary of John William 'Jack' Skakel

SKAKEL: John William "Jack" - A resident of R.R. # 4 Thamesville, John Skakel passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the age of 68. Born on the home farm, John was the son of the late Robert and Jane (Cowan) Skakel. Survived by his sister, Roberta Dickson (Mac) of Blenheim, nephew Jeff Dickson (Shanen) of Toronto and niece Heather Blain (Brady) of Stratford. Great-uncle to Audrey Dickson and Owen and Keira Blain. Jack was a lifelong farmer in R.R. # 4 Thamesville. He was a skilled toy maker, having worked for many years with Faire Tyme Toys. He loved the outdoors, and cherished his canoe trips around North America. He was very dedicated to cemetery restoration, and helped cultivate a website to catalog grave markers online. A Celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Ridgetown Legion. Cash bar at 3:00 p.m. Celebration of Life at 4:00 p.m. Donations made in memory of John to the London Health Sciences Foundation - Movement Disorder Clinic or the Chatham-Kent Hospice would be appreciated.
