Obituary of Anna M. "Wilma" Thiesen

THIESEN: Anna M. Wilhelmina "Wilma" (nee Camps) - A resident of Ridgetown, Wilma Thiesen passed away at the Village on the Ridge on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the age of 95. Born in Oostrum, Limburg, The Netherlands, Wilma was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Loonen) Camps. Beloved wife of the late Jacob "Jake" Thiesen (1995). Cherished mother of Mary Di Milo (Joe) of Leamington, Frank Thiesen of Calgary, AB, Michael Thiesen (Edith) of Windsor, Bernard Thiesen (Marianne) of Invermere, B.C., Diane Thiesen of Chatham and Betty Kennedy (Don Reaume) of Ridgetown. Proud Oma of Laura Niles, Krista Di Milo (Mladan), Darryl Di Milo (Enza), Melissa Di Milo (Robert), Marcia Thiesen (Will), Brian Thiesen (Rhonda), Ryan Weigel, Amanda Thiesen (Fergus) and Julie Thiesen. Predeceased by her four brothers and two sisters in The Netherlands. Great-Oma to Jasper Di Milo-Arnew, Talon Thiesen and Ethan Dewey. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Wilma was a member of the St. Michael's CWL in Ridgetown. She will be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. She could recount endless stories from her past. Over the years, Wilma knit afghans, sweaters, and countless socks for her family members and friends. Her children and grandchildren always appreciated her delicious homemade raisin bread, pies and canning. We will miss our Sunday afternoon euchre games with Oma. Family will receive at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date. Donations made in memory of Anna to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
