Obituary of George Arthur Tribe

TRIBE: George Arthur -

A resident of Ridgetown, George Tribe passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the age of 86.

Born in Linwood, Waterloo County, George was the son of the late James (1970) and Gladys (Moody) (1992) Tribe.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley J. Tribe (nee McLean) (2012).

Loving father of Janice Campbell (Edward) of R.R. # 2 Kent Bridge and Alan Tribe (Mary Janet) of Oakville.

Proud grandfather of Matthew Tribe (Kristyn), Brian Tribe (Claire), Amy Askes (Scott) and David Tribe (fiancee Maigan) and Jeff, Justin and Brittany Campbell. Predeceased by his granddaughter Kimberly Campbell (1988).

Great-grandfather to Nicholas and Liam.

Dear brother to Marie Hartney (late Tom) and Fred Tribe (Hazel). Predeceased by his sister Betty Groat (2011) and brothers Keith Tribe (2008) (late Marjorie) and Bob Tribe (2003) (late Tillie). Brother-in-law to Doug Groat. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law Charles (2000), Florence (2010), Mary (1995), Bert (1990), Peggy (1995), Isabell (2003), Robert (1937) and William (2014).

Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

George retired from the Ridgetown Public Utilities Office after many years of service. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #243 Ridgetown and the Howard Lodge #391 of A.F. and A.M., Ridgetown. George enjoyed taking annual trips with Shirley to Brownsville, Texas in their motor home.

As per George's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown at a later date.
