My wife (Elaine) and I extend our sincere condolences of your loss. I remember this fine gentleman with his attendance to when I played accordion at the Village on the Ridge in Ridgetown. His love for music, especially Irish tunes, were shown in his reception of the music through happiness and gratitude.
An honour to have made his life a little more enjoyable through my small contribution of the music.

Our condolences go out to you Ann. That's right, my children grew up walking along Jane St (with mom) to school as well & it was nice to see Bernie out caring for his property with a smile on his face towards on lookers.

I grew up two doors down from Bernie Grant, and both he and his wife never failed to have a smile and a wave for me as I walked passed their lovely home for school. When I grew up and moved away from Ridgetown, first for school, then for postings with the RCAF, he always asked my parents about what I was up to, and always had time for a chat when I was visiting. Jane St won't be the same without him.

We had the privilege of being Bernie's neighbour for 40+ years.We so enjoyed Bernie's wonderful smile, the attention he paid to our dogs when we walked by and shooting the breeze. Bernie's appreciation and interest in our son Ryan's Air Force career choice and the discussions they had meant so much. He will always have a special place in our hearts.
