Obituary of Jeanne Piche

PICHE: Jeanne Elizabeth Piche, age 79, died on Friday, June 9, 2006. Born in Amherstburg, Essex County, Ontario, Jeanne was the daughter of the late JMR (Max) and Bertha Strange. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Frederick Piche (1989), and her sister, the late Barbara Ingraham Burrus (2003). Jeanne was the loving and devoted mother of Stephen and his wife, Jackie Piche, Laurie and her husband, Paul Welch, Lenore and her husband, Dick Houston, and Roger and his wife, Shelley Piche. She was the proud grandmother of Marcie and her husband, Matt King, Amber and Ashley Piche, Jennie, Kara, and Matthew Welch, Bradley, Gregory, and Kailey Houston, and Vanessa and Kyle Piche. Jeanne was a member of the Anglican Church of Canada, Christ Church, Chatham. Among her many accomplishments, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in political science in 1976. She taught for the former Roman Catholic Separate School Board and was recognized as a master teacher. Visitation will be at Christ Church, Wellington Street, Chatham on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with The Reverend Paul Millward officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Chatham-Kent or the Canadian Cancer Society. Interment of the cremains in Stewart Cemetery, Tilbury East Township, will take place at a private family service. Jeanne loved and was greatly loved. She will be sadly missed by her family.
