BROADBENT: A resident of Chatham and formerly of Raleigh Township, Murray A. Broadbent passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, son of the late Louis and Pearl (Holdaway) Broadbent. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Tremblay) Broadbent (1999). Dear father of Richard Broadbent and his wife Margo of Stratford, Larry Broadbent and his wife Irene of Chatham, Kathleen Broadbent of Vancouver, Karen McWilliams and her husband Dave of Brantford, and Eric Broadbent and Sandra McNeil of Chatham. Grandfather of William, Erika, Kaila, Madison, Matthew, Laura, Jennifer, and Nick Broadbent, and Hunter McNeil. Great-grandfather of Jeffrey and Stephanie Broadbent. Brother of Marjorie McFarlane of British Columbia and the late Beverley Broadbent (1998) and his wife Carol of Charing Cross. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Murray farmed in Raleigh Township for a number of years. He was an Aircraft Engineer and served with the Royal Canadian Navy. Flying was one of Murray's greatest passions. A Family Funeral Service will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Monday, January 23, 2006. Cremation with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
