Obituary of Jim Flanagan

FLANAGAN: Jim. A resident of Chatham, William James "Jim" Flanagan died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Tuesday February 7, 2006 at the age of 87. Born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, son of the late John and Elizabeth Flanagan. As a volunteer member of the Canadian Army during WWII, Jim was in active service in Europe for 4 yrs. He retired from the LCBO, and farmed for many years in the Dresden area. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Benn) Flanagan (1991). Loving father of Wayne Flanagan and his wife Faith of Atlanta, Georgia, Patricia Case and her husband Brian of Victoria, B.C., Kathleen Simard and her husband Joe of Windsor, John Flanagan and his wife Rona of Brampton, Mike Flanagan and his wife Terry of Chatham, and Maureen Cudney and her fiance John Figar of Windsor. Loving grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 4. Brother of Violet Corney of Cut Knife, Sask., Ruth Lewis of Penticton, B.C., and predeceased by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Memorial Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday February 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Donations made by cheque to C.N.I.B. or a charity of one's choice appreciated.
