Obituary of Lawrence J. Dupuis

DUPUIS A resident of Chatham since 1974, Lawrence Joseph Dupuis died peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 78. Born in Tilbury West Township, son of the late William J. and Florence E. (Freker) Dupuis. Beloved husband and best friend for 53 years of Marie Helen (Marentette) Dupuis. Loving father of Dr. Maureen Henderson and her husband Bill of King City, Kevin Dupuis and his wife Nancy of Peterborough and the late Janine Dupuis (1976). Grandfather of Celine and Carissa Dupuis, Ciana and Kailyn Henderson. Brother of George Dupuis and his wife Corinne of Tilbury, John Dupuis and his wife Jeanne of Foymount, Raymond and his wife Rita of Stoney Point, Eugene Dupuis and his wife Sue of Warren, Michigan, Ernest Dupuis and his wife Pauline of Comber, Agnes Labonte and her husband Charles of Stoney Point, Louella Tolmie of Thunder Bay and her late husband Ken, Pauline St. Pierre and her husband Joe of Kingsville and the late Bernard Dupuis and Kathleen Grifka and her husband Jack. Lawrence enjoyed more than 30 years of providing warmth and comfort for his many customers and friends throughout the Chatham-Kent-Essex area. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church as well as a 3rd Degree Member of St. Agnes Council #8739 of the Knights of Columbus. In April of 1989 Lawrence joined the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Father James Assembly. Lawrence was a volunteer with CHAP for several years. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday from the Funeral Home. Knights of Columbus Prayer Service for the 3rd and 4th Degree will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday from the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2006 from St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Terence McNamara, Celebrant. Interment Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Comber. Donations, made by cheque, to Cancer Society or Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance appreciated.
