Obituary of Helen Marie Seifried

Seifried, Helen Marie (nee McQuinn) - of London, formerly of Ridgetown, passed away on Tuesday August 14, 2018, age 98.

Born in Wellington County, daughter of the late James and Cecilia (nee Stortz) McQuinn.

Loving wife of the late Vincent Anthony Seifried and the late Claude Johnson.

Beloved mother of Judy Pitt of Calgary, late Susan Bunn of London, Nancy Peat of London, Robert “Tex” Seifried of Parkhill, Eugene (Mary) Seifried of London, Paul (Kerry) Seifried of Victoria B.C., late Mark Seifried of London, Greg Seifried of Cedar Springs, and late Jeffery Seifried of London.

Step-mother to Rebecca (Mike) DeClark of Chatham, Earle (Maisie) Johnson of Muirkirk, Murray (Betty) Johnson of London, Tom (Lonnie) Johnson of Ridgetown, and Tim Johnson of Highgate. Helen will also be missed by Cheryl Johnson of Ridgetown.

Grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sister of late Frances (late Carson) Mills of London, Marian (Bernard) Benn of Lucan, late Joan (surviving Tony) Daciuk of Mt. Forest, late Lorne (surviving Marlene) McQuinn of Listowel, late John (surviving Beatrice) McQuinn of Niagara Falls, and late Norma (late Leonard) Burke of Harriston.

Sister-in-law of the late Frank Seifried of Harriston, late Jack Seifried of Harriston, late Dennis Seifried of Harriston, late Helena (Glenn) Stewart of Ilderton, late Ursula (Steve) Bellyk of Sarnia, late Patricia (Eric) Thomas of Guelph, and late Matt (surviving Mary) Seifried of Harriston.

Helen was a 65 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 243 Ladies Legion Auxillary and a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Women’s League. She drove school bus for Johnston Bus Lines and worked for Nelson’s Pharmacy.

Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East. Ridgetown on Friday August 17, 2018 from 11am - 12:30pm. Legion Ladies Auxillary Service of Remembrance to be shared at 12pm. The Funeral Mass for Helen will then be shared at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 George St. Ridgetown, at 1pm with Fr. John Juhl as Celebrant. Burial to follow in the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Ridgetown.
