Marg Richmond

Obituary of Marg Richmond

Richmond, Margaret Elizabeth - Marg passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with her family and a good friend by her side.

Born in Vernon British Columbia to parents the late John Ernest and Hazel (nee McLanders) Pugh.

Loving wife of Kenneth Richmond for 51 years.

Beloved mother of Christopher (Jill) Richmond of Guelph, and Dr. David (Rebecca) Richmond of St. Albert, Alberta.

Nana to Lily, Kate, Owen, Mya and Sophie.

Sister to Donald (Lily) Pugh of Perth, Western Australia, and Dr. George (Pat) Pugh of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Sister-in-law to Richard (Carol) Richmond of London.

Will missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Marg graduated from Queen’s University with her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She then began her teaching career at Napanee District High School, moved to Stratford Central Secondary, then to Ridgetown District High School with Ken. After the boys were born, she became the school librarian at Howard Harwich Moravian Public School.

Marg loved her community and friends she had in the church, service groups and in her gifted skills of tole painting, quilting, needlepoint and horticultural society activities. She enjoyed reading, her book club, and the Friends of the Library Committee. Winning at scrabble was a joy as was travelling with family and friends. Her gentle sense of humour and kind heart helped shape her years in Ridgetown. She was a warm, caring lady who will be sadly missed by many.

Memorial visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Saturday February 16, 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
