Obituary of Carolyn Auralie Morden

Peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham, on Monday, November 23rd, 2020 Carolyn Auralie Morden (nee Stewart) passed away at the age of 85. 

Daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Stewart (nee Horne). 

Beloved wife of 63 years to Gerald Morden. 

Loving mother of Russell Morden (Eva), Auralie Morden, Duane Morden (Linda), and Blake Morden (Deb). 

Dear sister of Lyle Stewart (Marilyn), Lorna Giffin (Lyle), Janet Hoorelbeck (the late Gordon), and Ardythe Henderson (Don).

Survived by her 6 grandchildren, and great granddaughter. 

Carolyn will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. 

Carolyn was raised on a dairy farm outside the city of Chatham. In her teen years, Carolyn played the cello in the Wallaceburg Symphony Orchestra. She actively farmed with Gerald, both in the field and in the egg barn. Many have recalled her over the years for the time she spent showing films in schoolhouses throughout Orford Township. Carolyn’s passion for youth was evident in her active involvement with the young people of Duart Presbyterian Church in years past. 

The family offers their sincere thanks to the staff of Riverview Gardens, particularly the staff of 3 East for their care and concern. 

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, on Thursday, November 26th, 2020 from 2 to 5pm. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Friday afternoon. Cremation to follow, with interment in Duart Cemetery at a later date.

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that all in attendance must wear a mask.
