It is a sadder, darker world without Pauline in it. Her many contributions to the community are amazing but it was her role in the family as the steady force of calm, reason, and compassion that we will remember. So many lovely meals at 95 main street, so many turkey pot pies, so many Christmas evening drinks in front of the fire with Gordon's slide shows. All of us here in Mississauga (Mary, Steve, William and Julia) are sad and send our hugs and love. Helen is especially sad about losing her sister-in-law and friend of nearly 62 years. Hugs and love to Hal, Val, Steve, Kelly, Erin today and every day. XO

My condolences to you and your family. I must have known your mother since Hal and I met in Kindergarten but grew up with her through IODE both before and after I became a member. As the Chapter's present archivist I have been able to read minutes and enjoy scrapbooks highlighting her good works and fun times with Confederation Chapter. Your mother joined the Chapter on April 3, 1956 and gave 110% to the Chapter and to all of the other local groups she was involved in.
May you find joy in memories of her and celebrate all she did for others.

I have many fond memories of curling with Pauline and Christmas celebrations at her home as a secretary to Gordon (Mr. Shaw). I still have a handwritten appetizer recipe that Pauline gave me, she was a wonderful cook. They were a beautiful couple. My sympathies to the Shaw family. On your moms 90th Birthday l picked her up and we went to lunch at 12:00 and we never left until 3:00. I had never had the chance to just visit with her by myself. We covered a lot of ground of memories of our family and yours.
She was a good customer and friend to my mother. Pauline was a wonderful lady and will be missed by everyone she touched.
