Obituary of William Trudgen

 Trudgen, William Albert 

A long time resident of Morpeth, William (Bill) Trudgen passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his home at the age of 82.

Bill was the son of the late Harley & Maude (nee Marsh) Trudgen.

Bill is predeceased by his wife Shelia (Mallony). He leaves behind his children Frank and Cathy, his step children Annette Kehoe (Bernie) and Sharron Crone (Simon), step grandchildren Danielle, Richard, Crystal and Sarah and several great grandchildren, brother Cliff Trudgen (Isabel) and sister Trudie Trudgen, nieces Lisa Heil (Chris) and Megan Trudgen (Nate) and great nephew Barryd Heil and great nieces Gwen Vanhooste and Rowan Heil.

Bill was born on September 30th, 1939 at the old Bell farm on Talbot Trail.  He went to Ridgetown District High School and was part of their hockey team. Bill was one of the first to skate on the ice in the Ridgetown Arena after it was built.  He went on to Westervelt College and graduated from the Business Admin program.  

Bill lived and worked in Toronto with his wife Shelia for many years and then decided to return to build a home on the property where he was born.  He and Shelia then started world renowned Woodsshadow Kennels. They had a business of grooming, boarding and breeding prize winning Old English Sheep dogs to which they sold these champion dogs all over the world.

Special thanks to Melanie, Coordinator of Home Services and all the care providers from VON and Bayshore who helped look after Bill.

As per Bill's wishes, his body has been donated to science.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Cemetery, Morpeth through the Funeral Home by cash or cheque.
