Please accept our sincere sympathy in the passing of your Mom and Grandma, our thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this difficult time. She was certainly a great lady who was very active in her Church and community.
May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared comfort each of you now and in the days to come.

Louise and I met by chance at the Highgate Fair when our family first moved into the area. We chatted and when she found out I was the crazy flower lady on Teetzel Line she promised to stop in to walk the gardens. She made good on her promise and we talked for hours. She would pop in to say hi and I could do the same at her place, have tea and a good visit. Oh how we could gab away about anything. Her stories were a joy to hear and she could always make you smile. Never once did I hear her say anything negative about anyone. I was honoured to have her in my life for even just a short while. Her family and community meant the world to her. She will truly be missed. Thinking of all of you at this time. All of our Love, The Duncan Family

Your mother has lived a wonderful life and will be missed by so many. Our Richards family was fortunate to have visited with you on your family farm and also at the nearby conservation area. In more recent times it was just your mother and I who would walk there and annually we'd take each other's picture holding that huge old tree up. Good memories that will last for a long time. May God bless you all.

My condolences to you at this time of Louise's passing. As so many have said, Louise left the world as a much better place because of her kindly thoughtful relationship to all she met, and wherever she was.. i was a CGIT camper at Point Pelee in the summer of 1957, and she was a camp counsellor and in charge of our cabin.. I believe she told us she was 18 at the time. She was so kind, with the twinkle in her eye, and her ability to keep us all excited about the camping opportunity before us. After I married, our paths crossed occasionally, and she was always the same caring, pleasant and involved person. Your family has been blessed to call her "mom' and "grandma". She will be missed, but never forgotten.

Dear Barb, Laurie, Ken, Ted, and families: It was with sadness that we received the news of your loss. We count it a privilege to have been neighbours with your family for 28 years. In those later years I had the pleasure of having visits with your mom with cups of tea, and a ginger snap or two, or three, or four...... She had the rare gift of making one feel to be the only person on earth that she wanted to visit with, that day. She treasured those things that money couldn’t buy and I learned much from her. We wish all of you much strength in the days and weeks and months ahead. God bless each of you. Gerry and Nellie de Haan

Louise was always generous and friendly. When I visited the farm as a teenager and was reviewing her copy of "Orford's Story" she offered it to me saying, I can get another. I loved reading her annual Christmas letters sent to my father and have tried to emulate her in more than just that manner. I remember the entire family visiting us in North Bay. Barb and I attended U of G at the same time. On 12 JAN 2023, my sister, Rosemary, and I booked a motel in Chatham planning to visit Louise. Dear Scott family,
My sincere condolences to you on the passing of your mom and grandma. I have special memories of years ago as a young girl visiting Sunday afternoons with Louise and her parents who were good friends of my grandparents. Later, we did visits to the farm where Louise and Gordon raised a wonderful family. I remember when my mom and Louise worked on camp together. Years forward I was delighted to have many of Louise’s grandchildren in my school class. Just felt like extended family. More recently it has been a joy to visit her at her home after a walk at Clear Creek and also as a Facebook friend. She was a grand lady, wise, thoughtful and full of wit. I too, will miss her. From her teaching days at New Scotland ,our years together at camp, church gatherings, and working together, through the Chamber of Commerce, in Ridgetown to display their campers, on the Main Street of Ridgetown, she has always been a wise mentor and a bright light.

Louise was the senior-room teacher to all of us Duartonians back in the early sixties. Some of us on the morning playground would stand by the fence, keeping watch for the grey Volkswagen Bug as it rounded Cochrane's corner - and we cheered, knowing Miss Ferguson had arrived. Miss Ferguson was always firm, fair, and kind - just what we needed in those days prior to high school. And then, of course, Miss Ferguson became Mrs. Scott - carrying with her the same quiet wisdom she had when I was in grade seven. Condolences to you, Laurie, and all the Scotts. Rob Kerr
