CLENDENNING: Ethel (nee Beck) – A resident of The Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown and formerly of Harwich Township, Ethel Clendenning passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 in her 93rd year. Born in Chatham, Ethel was the daughter of the late Isaac and May (Moore) Beck. Beloved wife of the late Fraser Dunbar Clendenning (2006). Loving mother of Linda Terry (Bob) of Blenheim and Bill Clendenning (Linda) of Harwich Township. Proud grandmother of Greg Terry (Val) of Chatham, Russell Clendenning (April) of Harwich Township, Cathryn Dick (Jason) of Harwich Township and Janet Clendenning of Vancouver. Dear Nana to Alana and Makenna Terry. Dear sister to Madge Duff of Collingwood and Lloyd Beck (Rusty) of Minnesota. Predeceased by her siblings Fred Beck, Ella Prail, Freda Simpson, Rene Crosbie, John Beck and Harold Beck. Sister-in-law to Dorothy Beck, Norma Rowe (John), Kate Clendenning and Jack Kerr (Coleen). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Ethel served in the R.C.A.F. during World War II. She thoroughly enjoyed golfing and curling and was a proud member of the Blenheim Golf Club and the Golden Acres Curling Club. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 with Pastor Ed Nicol officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Ethel to the Parkinson Society or Chatham-Kent Hospice would be appreciated.
