Obituary of Beatrice 'Bea' Pickering

PICKERING: Beatrice ‘Bea’ (nee Thorpe) – A resident of Royal Oak Long Term Care in Kingsville, and formerly of Blenheim and Morpeth, Bea Pickering passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the age of 99. Born in Chatham, Bea was the daughter of the late Levi and Maud (Martin) Thorpe. Beloved wife of the late Clarence ‘Pic’ Pickering (2000). Predeceased by her sisters Betty Marsh, Mildred Wood, Myrtle Dawson, Nancy Wood, Ilene Wolfe and her brothers Walter, Bill, Joe, Lorne and Jack Thorpe. Sister-in-law to Bertha Thorpe of Chatham. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends and extended family. Bea served Canada during WWII assembling munitions for the Canadian Armed Forces. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 185 Blenheim, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of the Community of Christ. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 with Corey Hartford officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Bea to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br 185 Blenheim, Blenheim Freedom Library or the Community of Christ would be appreciated.
