Robertson,Gillan (Gil) A resident of Chatham and formerly Blenheim & London, passed away peacefully in the early morning on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 91. Born in London, Ontario son of the late George and Jessie (Stuart) Robertson. Beloved husband of the late Ebba (Jensen) Robertson (2006). Dear father of Marna McCormick, Burlington; and Randy Robertson, San Antonio, Texas. Brother of the late George Robertson (2008). Grandfather (Bubba) to Lindsay; Maranda; Shaneysa; Elaython; and Brayden. Great Grandfather to Gavin; Elliot; Hayse; Emma; Kate; Owen; Nola; and Mallory. Uncle to Pat McLeish of Brantford and brother-in-law to Cora Black of Sarnia. Gil was well known for his love of team sports. His catching days with the London Majors were some of his fondest memories, and his induction into the London Sports Hall of Fame was a proud occasion for him. Gil was the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealer in Blenheim and Gil Robertson Motors was a fixture in the community for 20 years before Gil retired in 1987. He was a 60 year Mason, belonging to the Blenheim Shrine Club and the London Mocha Shrine Club. Gil will be missed by his many wonderful friends in London, Blenheim and Chatham. At his request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Gil's life will take place at the Blenheim Community Golf Club on Saturday January 17, 2015 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at the Golf Club at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Gil to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
