Obituary of Josie Ann Dodge

Dodge, Josie Ann – of Ridgetown, entered her new life with her creator peacefully on Wednesday December 23, 2015, age 90. Loving mother of Mable Louise (Francis) Hawco, the late Foster William “Sonny” Dodge, Janice Lee Dodge, Pamela Maillet, Lonnie Dodge, and James Allan Dodge (Lois Tebo). Will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Sister of Marie Duckworth. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Sarah Hannah, husband Foster Dodge, son Foster William Dodge, grandson Robert William Dodge, granddaughters Candice Renee Brummitt and Patricia Lynn Brummitt, and great-grandchild Dakota Sky Aguilar Brummitt. Josie was a member of the Caldwell First Nations and was given her Spirit Name E-niigaan naa bid (pronounced “eh knee gone naw bid”) which translates to “woman who walks in balance”. Visitation will begin at the family home, 20666 Colby Rd., Ridgetown, on Monday December 28, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. and will then continue at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E., Ridgetown, from 7-9 p.m.. Pastor Michael Wood will lead in an evening Prayer Service at 7 p.m.. The funeral services for Josie will continue on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. A Traditional First Nations Funeral Service will then be held at 11:30 a.m.. Reception and cremation to follow.
