Debbie Smith (youngest of Jim and Ella Smith) posted a condolence
Wednesday, January 18, 2017Hell Barb, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing away. I have fond memories of your parents mostly around times at the Church. I would go with Mom to the church to help decorate with Betty and Bob there as well. I was a kid but they always chatted away with me, your Dad would laugh and make jokes. I helped polish the brass with their watchful eyes!! Your parents were my godparents Mom told me so I felt that special connection to them. I went with Mom the odd time to the house with her baking for Bob after your mother passed away. He loved her mincemeat tarts and always made them special for him. No one could touch Bob's tarts!! Anyway, I know this is a difficult time, It has been almost 3 years since Mom passed away and for Dad it has been 10. I miss them so. Our family's thoughts are with you at this time. Your family is a wonderful part of our past and I will never forget that. Hugs, Debbie

Thursday, December 29, 2016So sorry to read about Bob's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I always stuck my head in his door when visiting brother, Marvin. Bob and I worked together for a number of years at the old C&D Sugar Co. in Chatham. He was a neat fellow and loved playing cards with the guys at noon hour. Warmest regards, Joyce (Cudmore) Barker.
