Obituary of Hector 'Bud' DeLeeuw

DeLEEUW: Hector John “Bud” – Passed away peacefully at Copper Terrace Nursing Home in Chatham with his family at his side on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the age of 85. Born in Nova Scotia, Bud was the son of the late George and Bessie (Scheuermann) DeLeeuw. Beloved husband of the late Betty Jean (Wardle) DeLeeuw (2007). Father of Dianne Campbell of London. Grandfather of Victor and Kim and great-grandfather of Caleb and Alyssa. Bud is survived by his brother Harvey DeLeeuw (June) , and his sisters Vera Irwin (Don) and Jan McCann. Predeceased by his brother Wayne DeLeeuw (2006) and his nephew Tim Irwin. Also survived by his aunt Reita Schultz of Alberta. Bud will be dearly missed by the members of the Wardle family, whom he loved dearly. Also missed by the Sinclair family and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Bud served for the Canadian Army in the Korean War. Upon his return to Canada, Bud owned and operated a variety store on the west end of Blenheim. He then worked at Siemens until his retirement. Bud was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 185, Blenheim. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45p.m. A Legion Service will be held at 12:45p.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00p.m. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
