Obituary of Ralph Ruby

RUBY: Ralph On Sunday January 19, 2014, Ralph Ruby entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour. He died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, surrounded by his family at the age of 83. Born in Milverton, Ontario, son of the late Elmer & Vera Ruby. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bernetta (Kropf) Ruby. Loving father of Cynthia & Ray Lewis of Stoney Creek, Susan & Brad Lister of London, and Sherri & Jim Knight of Toronto. Cherished grandfather of Katie and Jenny Lister, Evan, Anya, and Ethan Knight, and step-grandfather of Jen, Mat, Josh & Kasia Lewis. Dear brother of Jean Shantz (late Willard) of Baden, Ontario. Fondly remembered by Bernetta’s siblings; Clarence & Jean Kropf of Stratford, Elton Kropf of New Hamburg, Mary Ellen & Stephen Gingerich of Zurich, and Selina Zehr of Milverton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by granddaughter Gabrielle Knight, and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Ralph retired from International Harvester where he had worked in bookkeeping and sales. He sold real estate for many years, volunteered with Mission Services (London), Junior Achievement, Gideons, and as a driver for the Cancer Society. He was an active member of Gregory Drive Alliance Church, serving as an elder and as treasurer. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Gregory Drive Alliance Church, 255 Gregory Drive West, Chatham on Saturday January 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gordon Reynolds officiating.
