Obituary of Ruth Carolyn Brinkman

BRINKMAN: Ruth Carolyn (nee Durst) – A resident of Chatham, Ruth Brinkman passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with her family at her side on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the age of 68. Born in Arnprior, Ontario, Ruth was the daughter of the late William Albert and Esther Violet (Pilgrim) Durst. Beloved wife of 43 years to Earl A. Brinkman. Loving mother of Karen (Brinkman) Hauca (Mark) of Edmonton, Alberta, Jeff Brinkman (Becky) of Spokane, Washington and Mark Brinkman (Trisha) of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Ella Brinkman, Noah Brinkman, Grace Brinkman, Samuel Hauca, Matthew Brinkman, Molly Brinkman, J.T. Brinkman, Allison Hauca and Eli Brinkman. Dear sister to W.H.A. “Bert” Durst (Doreen) of Fenwick. Sister-in-law to Linda Weeks (late Ray) of Chatham and Marlene Johnson (Ellwood) of Peterborough. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Ruth trained for nursing at Toronto East General and nursed in both Kitchener and Chatham. Ruth was an active member at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She will be remembered for the selfless way she served others, and for her love for her Saviour, family and friends. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery prior to a Celebration of Ruth’s Life at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 100 McNaughton Ave W., Chatham at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 with Rev.
