Also survived by many nieces and nephews. When Jim was 10 years old his family moved to the Blenheim area, knowing friends from the west, and settled on the farm on the Eau Road. Jim and Gail were married in 1956 and raised their family in the Blenheim and Caledonia areas. Together they previously owned and operated Greatview Orchards and Farm Market which he enjoyed for many years. Jim’s off farm enjoyment was spending time at the cottage in north country, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Jim was an avid hockey fan. He enjoyed attending all his grandsons’ hockey games. Jim was a prior owner of the Blenheim Blades Junior C hockey team in the 1980’s and supported the Annual Atom/Peewee Tournament for 41 years. Jim also operated a sand and gravel and excavator business until his sudden failing health in 2002 which brought him into early retirement against his way of life and perfection. Jim resided for the last year of his life at the Blenheim Community Village. How a life can be changed in the blink of an eye. Enjoy today. You never know what tomorrow will bring. “Our miracle is at rest.” Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Marlborough St. N., Blenheim at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014.
