Smith: Ella Leanora A resident of Ridgetown, Ella Smith died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday May 19, 2014. She was born in Dunwich Township, 85 years ago on January 10, 1929. Beloved wife of the late Jim Smith (2007). Loving mother of Patricia Smith (Salvador Maldonado), Mexico; Michael J. Smith (Joanne), Chatham; John Smith (Patricia), Martintown; and Debbie Smith-Bos (Stuart), Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Dan Smith, Nathan Smith (James), Nicholas Smith (Priscilla), Jenna Smith, Sarah Ludlam (Scott), Megan Anderson, Hope Smith-Bos (Jason), Jesse James Grasis (Alana), Jennifer Grasis (Michael), Graham Bos (Katie), and Laura Bos (Braeden). Proud great grandmother of 15 and predeceased by her great granddaughter Bristol Kern. Dear sister of Allen Lilley (Kay), Wallacetown; Mac Lilley (Anne), Dutton; Donald Lilley (Pat), Dutton; Ann Vereycken (Peter) Mt. Brydges; June Mundinger, Glencoe; Peggy Gowan (Ken), Dutton; and the late Flossie Paton, Sadie Blancher, Martha Clough, and Cliff Lilley. She will be fondly and lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Ella earned her RN, and then devoted herself to her family. She loved life…her family most of all, her dog Gracie, traveling any time she could, and socializing with people everywhere she went. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday May 24, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ridgetown.
