Obituary of John Richard Whittington

Whittington, John Richard, a resident of R.R. #4, Chatham. John R. Whittington died Wednesday July 2, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, at the age of 55. Born in Chatham, son of John & Marie (Russell) Whittington of Charing Cross. Beloved husband of Terry (Van Basselaere) Whittington. Dear brother of Tom (Lynn) Whittington, Chatham; Deb (Carl) King, Chatham; Fay (Ron) Hopkins, B.C.; Patty Whittington, Windsor; Robert Whittington, Chatham; and Diane Whittington, Toronto. Brother-in-law of Susan Van Basselaere, Chatham; and James (Nelda) Van Basselaere, Calgary. Son-in-law of Dianne Van Basselaere (the late Robert, 1999). Also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, one great great niece and godson Colin Darling. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday July 4, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. and at the Chatham Salvation Army Saturday from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Chatham Salvation Army, 46 Orangewood Blvd., Chatham on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Captain Andrew Watkinson officiating.
