Obituary of Nora Dauphin

Nora Jean Dauphin (nee Antaya)

It is with deeply saddened hearts but wonderful memories that we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt & friend, Nora Dauphin. Nora passed Sunday, April 29, 2018 at The Village on the Ridge, with her family by her side, at the age of 91.

Beloved wife of the late Joe Dauphin (2015).

Loving mother of the late Gary (2015) and his surviving wife Heather Dauphin, the late Mark Dauphin (2001), and Susan and her husband Brian Verburg.

Caring Great-Grandmother of Dylan, Aliyah, Erin, Lana, Sam, Hayden, Bryn, Jace and soon to arrive Baby Verburg.

Dear sister of Anna Mae (Doug) Pardo, Donna Batten and Bob (Jane) Antaya.

Much loved friend of Marilyn Roman. She will be sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

Nora and Joe married in February 1947 and were happily married for 68 years. They farmed side by side for the many years in Chatham Township, McKays Corners, Dungannon and Glencoe.

Mom’s greatest legacy was her family, they meant everything to her. She always made time for a visit, enjoyed a good laugh, a hand of cards, tending to her gardens and cooking dinner for her loved ones, which of course, was always topped off with her amazing apple pie.

Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East Ridgetown on Friday May 4, 2018 from 1-3pm. The Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment Arnold Cemetery, Chatham-Kent.

In lieu of donations or flowers, the family would ask everyone to honour Nora by engaging in random acts of kindness toward others.

A special thank you to Dr. Len Prins and all of the caregivers at The Village on the Ridge for the exceptional care given to Mom over the past years. She loved you all so very much.
