Farmer: Margaret Keith Denny  (née Knight) -

At the Chatham Kent Health Alliance on Thursday, April 11, Margaret Farmer (neé Knight) of Chatham, originally Dundee, Scotland passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Cherished daughter of Alexander and Mary Knight of Dundee , Scotland. 

Predeceased by best friend and beloved husband Tom. Also predeceased by sisters Jessie and May. 

Loving mother to Avril Kelly (Dan) and Alexander Farmer (Judy). 

Devoted Granny to Caitlin Kelly (John Ryan Bourdeau), Kylie Farmer, Allison Kelly (Kyle Sleightholm), Shealy Towe (Craig), and Julie Farmer (Mike Lynch). Proud Super Granny to Ashlea, Danny, Ryan, Quinn, Nixon, Andrea, Sunnie, and Darby. 

Meg will be fondly remembered and missed by brother-in-law, John Farmer of Dundee, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins in Scotland as well as many friends in Chatham.

Meg and Tom immigrated to Canada in 1958, initially residing in Windsor before settling in Chatham in 1962. She was a member and Recording Secretary of the Sons of Scotland, Carlyle Camp and a long time employee of Zellers, Canada.

Meg enjoyed a variety of sports throughout the years. She was an avid badminton, squash, and racquetball player, as well as a long-time golfer. Over the years she enjoyed spending leisure time at the Montreal House and the Legion.

A Celebration of Life for Margaret will be held at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday April 14, 2024 starting at 11:00am. Eulogies and Memories will be shared at 12:00pm followed by time to gather and celebrate Margaret.
